K-pop boy group Monsta X has landed their first-ever number one song at the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart with their hit “From Zero.”

“From Zero” attained the sought after accolade with the help of their fans, called “Monbebe.”

The song was released as part of the group's fifth mini-album The Code and was personally written, composed, and arranged by Monsta X member Wonho --- whom fans are and had been dedicating the song.

Before the song's achievement, MonstaX's achievements also include reaching No.1 on the World Albums Chart with their “Beautiful” LP and one of Billboard's Top 10 Heatseekers Albums Chart.

Wonho cleared of all charges

Early this month, Monsta X member Wonho has been cleared of all charges following claims of marijuana use in 2013.

On March 14, MonstaX's agency Starship Entertainment released an official statement announcing that the investigation has been concluded and that Wonho has been cleared of all charges.

It states, “On March 10, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's narcotics investigation team concluded their investigation involving drugs such as marijuana and MonstaX's former member Wonho.

“Wonho has been cleared of all charges related to the case.

“In late October 2019, allegations of marijuana use were made against Wonho and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's narcotics investigation team looked into the charges. During this process, Wonho was fully cooperative in all stages of the investigation, including the scientific examinations carried out by the investigative body.

“The team carried a broad search over the past five months but did not find any suspicious activity.”

Following the allegations, Wonho departed from the group and Starship Entertainment confirmed that they had terminated their contract with Wonho in October 2019.

Interview with Dispatch

In an exclusive interview with South Korean news agency Dispatch, Wonho opened up about his love for Monsta X and his fans.

He said, “We worked hard on the new album [All About Luv]. I hated thinking that Monsta X would fall because of me. I thought the only way for the team to survive is if I left as soon as possible.

“I wanted to minimize the damage as much as I could.

“I can say this with confidence, after meeting Monbebe, I completely changed. I finally understood what it feels like to be loved and I wanted to be better every day.”

According to the Korean singer, his life usually consisted of work, exercise, and connecting with his fans. Even while on tour, he would hold live broadcasts in streaming app VLive that would often last at least three to four hours.

He said, “It was the first time I had felt such warm emotions. So, I didn't want to disappoint them. I only wanted to do things our fans would like and I wanted to repay their love.”

Monsta X is a South Korean boy group formed through the reality survival program No Mercy by Starship Entertainment.

Aside from Wonho, the group consists of six other members namely Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, and I.M.
